Microwaves Somehow, Barbara Hale endured nine seasons of screaming, pranks, and endless hours on the set "just standing there." She was rewarded; she won several industry awards, including an Emmy for best supporting actress in a dramatic series for the 1958-59 season. Not bad for someone who started out in the funny papers. After the Mason show was canceled, she turned her positive personality into a well-paid commercial career. Besides making occasional screen appearances, Barbara was featured as a spokeswoman for Amana kitchen appliance products for several years. And with all that friendliness and charm, who could resist buying a microwave oven from her? |
